Almost six full weeks have passed since the government decreed the confinement on 14 March due to the expansion of COVID19 in Spain. A time in which many of you have surely chosen to practice physical exercise at home, helping you – we hope – from the workouts that Anytime Fitness has made available to you with our trainers and our PPP. What are the things you should not do when you train at home? We tell you.

I’m sure that in this time, besides our resources, some of you who are reading this blog have decided to do some sport on their own. And if that’s the case, it’s obviously fine with us as long as you know the things you shouldn’t do when you train at home so you don’t get hurt. Do you want to know what those things are? If you answered yes, what follows will interest you.
Adapt the exercises to your level
Think that one of the things you should not do when training at home is not to adapt the exercises and workouts to your physical conditions. As much as you may have heard or seen that such training is good for such a thing, think that not all training is good for everyone. I’m sure you’ve heard this from our trainers and have seen it in our PPP. Don’t forget that if you miscalculate your exercise you can cause injuries or muscle overloads.
Something that can happen when, for example, you practice jumping to increase the intensity of some strength exercises. Especially when the person doing them has knee or back problems. Is this your case? Before committing any recklessness, consult us. You know that at Anytime Fitness we are, also now, to help you.
Another thing you should not do when you train at home is to jump into exercises you are not used to. No, no and no! And again no even if you train frequently and are an active person when it comes to sport. So be very careful when you try to do that thing that you follow in your nets or that influence that is now so fashionable.
Maybe it’s also time to try lower impact activities https://mystroud.com/keto-trim-canada/. Have you tried yoga? It can bring a lot of benefits to your mind and body.
Follow your idols, don’t imitate them
Because many of them, as they are also confined, are feeding their social networks with videos of their workouts. Be careful with what you see! No matter how well intentioned our idols are, if you don’t want to hurt yourself and the remedy is worse than the disease, the best thing is that your exercise has been programmed and supervised by sports professionals. Once again, ask us. We are here to help you. We have a personal training program designed for anyone who wants to stay in shape from home, hand in hand with the professionals of our clubs.
Important! Also on the list of things not to do when training at home is not to train all the time, even if you have more time. Remember that sometimes less is more, and that your goal now is to maintain your physical condition as much as possible. Think that having more time to train at home does not have to translate into a high training load.
Variety in your exercises
Another of the most frequent mistakes, that is, another thing you should not do when training at home is to focus on one exercise and leave the rest aside. Combine cardio with strength training. What’s the point? To give more variety to your workout and make it as complete as possible. Oh, something else! When doing cardio, remember that it is important to hydrate and ventilate the room you are working in to promote good thermoregulation.
And once again, if you have any doubts, ask us. Physical activity is very important in these times of confinement to avoid cardio-respiratory risks and to keep body and mind healthy. But not everything goes. Adapt your sporting activity to your state of health, your physical condition and your objectives. And now that you know what not to do when you train at home, train, but safely. Shall we help you?
